How bombed do you have to be before bringing back one of Hitler’s most technically advanced warbirds starts to sound like a good idea?

Sober or not, engineers have put together a full-scale replica of the Horten Ho 2-29 “flying wing” fighter-bomber that the Nazis were testing at the end of World War II. The futuristic-looking monstrosity was the first plane to have radar-defeating components similar to those used on the modern B-2 stealth bomber.

Northrop-Grumman, which help builds the B-2, re-created the Horten using blueprints and the only remaining prototype of the plane. Thankfully for allied air crews, only three prototypes were built during the war, and they were pulled behind gliders for testing.

It makes you wonder how far the Nazis would have gotten with this sinister craft if they’d had more time.

Read more and see photos of the Horten replica at the London Daily Mail.
