Rockies add lefty Beimel

Tracy Ringolsby at InsideTheRockies.com reports that the Rockies have acquired left-handed reliever Joe Beimel for the Washington Nationals in exchange for two prospects.
One of the prospects is right-handed pitcher Ryan Mattheus, who is currently recovering from elbow surgery. Mattheus was considered a long shot to make the Rockies out of spring training and would have been in line for a recall this season if not for the injury.
Beimel is 1-5 with a 3.40 ERA this season for Washington.
