Roundtable to preview Biennial of the Americas

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper will join ambassadors from Mexico, Argentina and Chile on Tuesday in launching a preview of next summer’s Denver Biennial of the Americas.
Former Denver Mayor Federico Pena also will participate in the event — a roundtable discussion of key issues facing the Western Hemisphere — which will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Sharp Auditorium, in the Denver Art Museum’s Hamilton building.
Various members of the community were invited two weeks ago to the event, which is already full.
The Denver Biennial of the Americas will be an international cultural event celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of South, Central and North America. The inaugural biennial will be held in summer 2010 over a seven-week period, and the event will return to Denver every two years.
A series of arts and cultural programming will be held at institutions throughout the city, as will a public dialogue series. The biennial also will include a 30,000-square-foot innovation exhibition in downtown Denver.
