Broncos suspend Marshall for insubordination
The Brandon Marshall saga finally came to a head Friday as the Denver Broncos suspended the disgruntled wide receiver for at least the rest of the preseason for insubordination. The Denver Post reports that the suspension resulted from Marshall’s performance at Wednesday’s practice during which he either performed drills lazily or not all all. After one drill, Marshall punted a ball away instead of returning it the ball boy, and caught on camera by a local Denver news crew.
Marshall appeared on ESPN’s NFL Live on Thursday to try to explain his actions:
The Broncos informed the rest of the team of the suspension Friday.
UPDATE, 8/28: Marshall’s suspension will last only through the end of the preseason. However, if Marshall’s attitude doesn’t change, the suspension could be extended into the regular season.
