Coloradan indicted in looting of ancient artifacts
A Colorado man has been indicted in a federal investigation into the looting of ancient Southwestern artifacts in the Four Corners region.
Robert B. Knowlton, 66, of Grand Junction, was indicted late Tuesday in Denver. He is charged with four counts of illegally selling archaeological artifacts and one count of transporting them from Colorado to Utah.
Knowlton, who allegedly sold artifacts on the Internet, is the 26th person charged as part of the investigation, which has been going on for two years.
