Group thinks poo-bag park plan is crap

A group of neighborhood activists is opposing a plan to allow advertiser-supported dog-waste-bag stations in Denver parks, the Denver Daily News reports. The activists — the Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation Parks Committee — are proposing an alternative in which volunteers from neighborhood groups would put the dispensers on existing poles and keep them stocked with recycled newspaper bags.

“Nobody is saying they are in favor of dog poop in the park,” said Larry Ambrose, co-chairman of the INC. “We’re simply opposed to advertising. What would stop them from putting Viagra ads on park benches, or Fruit Loops ads on playground slides?”
