More on the Doug Bruce-Costco trespass saga

Saturday’s ticket for trespassing wasn’t the first time anti-tax activist and TABOR author Doug Bruce ran afoul of Costco’s good graces. The store warned him last year during a similar situation that it doen’t allow solicitors, the Colorado Springs Gazette reports.

Costco manager John Wynns said Tuesday Bruce was aware that the store bars all solicitors from its property, from Girl Scouts to political activists. He said Bruce knew that because Costco employees called police last year for exactly the same thing – collecting signatures for ballot measures outside the store.

Bruce says he is being singled out because of a newly revised city policy on signature-gathering that he calls “illegal.”
