More than 400 Democrats from 16 mostly Western states gathered in Denver on Thursday for day one of a two-day summit to highlight success stories and learn how to develop strategies to expand their party in the once solid red-state West.
On hand were notables such as actor-director Robert Redford, oil magnate T. Boone Pickens and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
