Obama plans health-care town hall in Grand Junction

President Barack Obama will hold a health care town hall meeting Saturday at Grand Junction Central High School. From the Grand Junction Sentinel:

Obama, who has been pushing for an overhaul of the nation’s medical care and insurance system, will discuss requiring insurance companies to abide by annual caps on how much they can charge for out-of-pocket expenses and reduce co-payments and deductibles. Saturday’s meeting will follow similar forums in Portsmouth, N.H., and Bozeman, Mont.

The Sentinel has learned Obama and his wife, Michelle, will attend separate events while the first family is here in Grand Junction. The family is scheduled for a tour of national parks in the West on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to encourage park visitation — their trip comes during a “fee-free” weekend — but it remains unknown whether they will visit Colorado National Monument.
