DU’s Tarnoczi reaps national honors

University of Denver freshman Alex Tarnoczi was selected to the Soccer America Men’s Team of the Week and was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Co-Player of the Week. Additionally, Tarnoczi earned a spot on Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week. Tarnoczi scored the game winning goal in overtime on Friday to give the Pioneers a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over defending Atlantic 10 champion Dayton. And he scored a pair of goals and added an assist in DU’s win over Belmont on Sunday.
