It’s enough to make any true Lego fan go to pieces.

A full-size, two-story house in England that is made entirely of Lego building blocks may be destroyed if no one wants it. James May, the creator of the 20-foot-tall plastic palace is giving it away, but it will have to be moved.

May isn’t just some blockhead. He’s a co-host of the BBC TV car show Top Gear, and he built the house for his own upcoming show, James May Toy Stories.

About 1,000 workers helped May build the fully functional, multicolored house out of 3.3 million Lego bricks. It sits on a wine estate in the county of Surrey, England, and now the vineyard needs the land back so it can harvest its grapes.

Preserving the home after the show had been filmed was supposed to be a snap. But May says that the Legoland theme park in Windsor, England, which donated the bricks for the project, couldn’t make its plans to take the house stick. The park decided that moving it would be too expensive.

Soon the house could be cut apart with chainsaws. It would be nice to see someone step forward to make the dream of saving this kid-friendly creation fit together.
