It feels a bit strange to be thinking about the spring 2010 New York Fashion Week collections, held Sept. 10-17, seeing as fall weather is just now hitting us. But that’s how the fashion world works, folks. Here are some trends to warm up to come spring:

1. Show some skin: Slashes, sheer materials and cutouts were all over the runways.

2. Get your shine on: You’d be hard-pressed to find a designer who wasn’t dazzled by sequins or metallics for spring.
