When the Colorado Rockies called up Jhoulys Chacin on Friday, there was speculation that 2008 first-round pick Christian Friedrich would be move up from high Class-A Modesto to Double-A Tulsa to take his place. For the time being, though, 28-year-old Kurt Birkins was demoted from Colorado Springs to Tulsa.
